Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m., conference is from 8:30 to 3:30.
This is our fourth annual Day with the Experts. This is your chance to learn about autism related research being conducted at the Waisman Center and the University of Wisconsin - Madison along with learning what having autism is like from a panel of people on the spectrum.
The researchers from the Waisman Center and the UW-Madison include:
Erik Carter PhD—presenting his research on inclusive education
Garet Lahvis PhD—how mouse research informs autism
LeAnn Smith, PhD—updating Marsha Seltzer’s long term follow up studies
Maureen Durkin, PhD—current information from the CDC epidemiology study
David Hsu, MD, PhD—presenting new findings on brain connectivity and autism
After the presentations, parents may sign up to participate in the studies if they are interested. A coffee break and lunch will be provided. There will not be childcare available at this event.
